Update for the start of the new term

2 January 2024 (by Vicky Hopkins (vhopkins))

We hope you had a peaceful Christmas holidays and a Happy New Year. I will send out a more detailed weekly update at the end of the week but I just wanted to inform you of a few changes for the new term.

Your child's PE day may have changed. The PE days for spring term are as follows, and your child will need to come to school in PE kit on these days:

FS- no PE kit required this term

Year 1- Tuesday (outdoor PE)

Year 2- Tuesday (indoor PE)

Year 3- Monday (outdoor PE) and Thursday (indoor PE)

Year 4- Wednesday (indoor PE)

Year 5- Thursday (outdoor PE)

Year 6- Monday (indoor PE) and Friday (outdoor PE)

In addition, we want to welcome Mrs Nijhuis, an experienced teacher, to the team at Fairfields. Mrs Nijhuis will be the new class teacher in New Delhi. Miss Warwick will be supporting Mrs Nijhuis in the classroom to ensure a smooth handover as she is now back in school parttime, but Mrs Nijhuis will be able to provide the daily consistency as the New Delhi class teacher until the end of the summer, with Miss Warwick's support.

Parents of children in New Delhi, and in Warsaw class where Mrs Perkin and Mrs Robak will be teaching from tomorrow, will be invited in more formally next week to meet their child's new teachers and we will let you know at the end of this week when this will take place. I am sure that in the meantime you will join me in welcoming them to our school.

Finally, teacher led clubs will not be on this week, including choir, netball, rugby and football. We will let you know next week more details about when clubs will commence.

Many thanks for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Mrs Vicky Hopkins
