Weekly Update 5

10 October 2022 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead.

Thank you for all of the donations to the Harvest Festival and for coming in to see your child’s artwork!  The Food Bank in Basingstoke really appreciate this each year, especially with the lead-up to Christmas.

Another event which took place this week focused on managing behaviour for parents.  Thank you also to the 26 parents who attended the workshop on Wednesday which was led by the Primary Behaviour Support Service.  This was welcomed by the parents and we are looking at running other events throughout the year.

Pupil Leaders

We are proud to announce these children as our pupil leaders in the school.  The House Captains help to run team assemblies and events throughout the year.  School Councillors develop areas within the school, after holding class assemblies each week, and also create fundraising ideas.

Top Tips for Parents

Research suggests that children need 10-12 hours of sleep a night. In addition, it takes 2 hours for the brain to stop processing moving images from devices such as phones and the TV. If your child is struggling to sleep, it might help them to relax and sleep better if devices are restricted before bed.

Finally, please put the date for Parents Evening in your diary – 1st and 2nd of November.  More information will be released this week to explain how the evenings will be organised.

Thank you for your continued support.
