Dear Parents and/or Carers,

I wanted to introduce myself to those who may not know who I am. My name is Miss Moore and I have taken over the role of Inclusion Manager from Miss White. I was previously a year 2 teacher in the school before moving to work in a school for pupils with servere learning difficulties. In my time teaching I have taught all ages from foundation stage up to further education. I am looking forward to my new role at Fairfields and to once again work alongside the fantastic staff team that is led by Miss Dillon.

I wanted to update you on how our interventions are going to be running this term. I have delayed interventions starting for our special education needs and disability (SEND) pupils who have individual education plans until the w.b 26^th September. Those pupils with education, health care plans (EHCPs) have started their interventions with the adult/s they work with. My reason for delaying other specific interventions until the 26^th September was to allow teachers to settle in and get to know their classes as much as possible so they could select the best interventions possible for their SEND pupils. This then means when our intervention learning support assistants work with your child, they will have the best idea of how to support them.

I also wanted to highlight to you that every Tuesday afternoon between 1.30pm and 3.00pm I have drop in slots available. This is where any parent/carer can come in and meet with me to discuss their pupil. Please could you book these slots via the school office so that we can avoid any double bookings. Please could I also ask that you highlight to your child’s teacher any concerns you may have before coming to book in with me. The office staff will check you have raised your concern/query with your child’s class teacher.
