Back to School - Summer Term 2022

25 April 2022 (by admin)

Dear Parents and carers,

I hope you have all had an incredible holiday and are ready to come back to school tomorrow.

We have had a productive training day today in school.  One of the things we have focused on is how we can improve our pupils’ vocabulary to improve our writing results.  Keep an eye out on more information about this over the next few weeks.

Spring Carnival

Thank you to everyone who came to the end of term Spring Carnival – it was a celebration of everything we have achieved as a community!

The majority of performances from the Spring Carnival are now able to view on the Performance Page on our website: https://www.fairfields.hants.sch.uk/latest-news/music-videos

You will need the parent login details which were emailed out in previous communications to view these.

We are now in process of organising the Jubilee Big Lunch on Friday 27th May.  If any parents would like to help to with ideas for this event, please contact email admin@fairfields.hants.sch.uk

Spring Art Gallery

We have also created an art gallery of the entries for the Spring Art Competition.  The winning pieces have also been selected!  These will now be made into canvases to be displayed in the school.

School Council chose the art competition to raise money for the new playground they have designed.  The money raised from selling the artwork will help to pay for this alongside additional fundraising by the PTA.

Please see the website for more information: https://www.fairfields.hants.sch.uk/parents/fairfields-art-gallery

COVID Information from Hampshire

All children aged 5-11 will now be eligible for their first jabs as the COVID-19 programme rolls the vaccine out across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The vaccine is a specially developed paediatric version for children. Parents are able to access the vaccine through vaccination centres, local pharmacies and GPs.

There has been an overwhelming response from parents who would like to vaccinate their children and teams across Hampshire and Isle of Wight are working hard to provide additional capacity.

Parents are able to find their nearest vaccination site via the NHS website, by calling 119 or by calling the Hampshire and Isle of Wight COVID-19 helpline on 0300 561 0018 which can help find and book slots or direct you to your nearest walk-in.

New sites and vaccination slots are uploaded all the time so please check regularly.

Have a wonderful last few hours of holiday time and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
