Happy Half Term!

25 February 2022 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

I hope you have had a restful half term and have got through the weather without too much damage to your properties.

I am writing to you following the Government’s announcement about living with COVID-19.  New guidance came into force on the 24th February:

There is no longer a legal requirement for people with coronavirus (COVID-19) infection to self-isolate, however if you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19 or a positive test result, the public health advice is to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.

As a result, we will be reducing some of the measures in school. We will continue to monitor known cases in the school and report these each week.  We would appreciate if parents could inform the school if their child tests positive.

We will continue with encouraging regular hand-washing and use of the automatic hand sanitisers around the school.

Pupils and staff will not need to wear masks.  Parents will not be required to wear masks in the playground unless they wish to.

Staff will be invited to test if they have symptoms.

We will continue to clean areas in the school and deep clean when cases are confirmed.

If you or your child experience flu-like symptoms, we would encourage you to stay home until your symptoms are clear.  If you are concerned that it may be COVID, you are still able to book a test to confirm in the usual way.  Please see the attached infographic guidance from the Government.

In the event of an outbreak, we will follow the contingency plan and introduce additional measures as advised.

We will review our approach again following the Government’s review in April.

Have a great last few days of your holiday.

Miss Kelly Dillon
