Weekly Update 15

30 January 2022 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

Apologies for the delay in sending the final numbers to you for this week.  It has been an extremely challenging week for the school with staff absences meaning that at times we have operated with only half of the staff in school.

Thank you to the parents for continuing to show support and for being understanding if we haven’t done everything that we normally would have.  Here are the numbers for the last 10 days:

Year Group

Confirmed positive cases in the last 10 days with pupils

Confirmed positive cases with staff

Staff absence for other reasons such as childcare, ill health etc.

The good news is that the staff are beginning to return to school and so we will return to the planned curriculum in a week.  All clubs other than Bootcamp and Bricks Club will be postponed until the week beginning 7th February.

To share what we are doing with COVID and to answer any questions parents have, we will be hosting a question and answer session for parents on Monday 31st January at 7:30pm.

This will be held via Zoom using the following code:

Meeting ID: 945 3680 5072
Passcode: 73886

Please do come along if you have any concerns, queries of suggestions.

Chinese New Year celebration – Tuesday 1st February 3:30.

Chinese New Year celebration will continue to as planned.  Please do join us on the playground afterschool on Tuesday at 3:30pm to take part in some traditional activities.  This will include any children in Year 3 and 4 who are able to stay to help create a dragon dance in the playground.

Finally, thank you for everything you are doing at home to support your child with their learning.  We know how tough it must be for everyone to have to isolate and also try to continue with everyday activities including work.

If there are any families who are struggling emotionally or financially, please contact Terri Hope through the school office.  Terri has links with many agencies who are able to provide short term support for anyone affected by having to isolate.

Best wishes,

Miss Kelly Dillon
