COVID Update

29 November 2021 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,Dear parents and carers,
Following the government’s announcement regarding the Omicron Variant and in the lead up to the winter holidays we are reviewing our risk assessments for whole school events.  The main changes in school are that all adults will wear masks in communal areas.  We will continue with regular testing.  We are also looking at whether whole classes or year groups will need to isolate if the variant is discovered.  At present we ask:- That all parents wear masks when inside the building.  - That parents take lateral flow tests before attending school events – this does include the Winter Fair.  - That you only send your child to school if they are well.  We will send any child with a cough or cold symptoms home until they are well or have a negative PCR test result.   - That you send all communication via email, in a note in your child’s bag or call the school office.  This includes not attempting to speak face to face with a member of staff in the morning or after school.  If you have a message, please do not approach any staff member in the playground before or after school.  This is because social distancing is challenging in these circumstances and we cannot afford for staff members to have to isolate due to the interaction.  - That your child only brings in the items they need for school and no additional objects , unless agreed with a member of staff.  We will continue to monitor the cases in school and await further guidance from Hampshire local authority.  Kind regardsKelly DillonHeadteacher
