Weekly update 5

25 October 2021 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

Finally, we are in the half term holiday and we can take stock of everything we have achieved over the term.

Well done to all of the staff, parents and children in the school for completing our first half term.  The children have worked tremendously hard throughout the term to adjust to the new expectations in their new class.  The younger children in Year 1 have particular impressed us with how quickly they have settled into a more formal approach to learning.  The Toy Museum was a celebration of how focused they are since returning.

The Foundation Stage children have also amazed us all.  They are an absolute asset to the school and have embraced all areas of learning.  We are really looking forward to seeing their annual production in December.

Mrs Bogalski has had her final day in school and is now taking maternity leave until July.  We wish her luck for the next week and look forward to an update when her baby arrives!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Harvest Festival on Friday afternoon.  It was wonderful to have the parents in school and a joy to see how excited the children were.  We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Please could we ask that parents do not share any photographs or videos taken during the event.  Although not explicitly stated on this occasion, we normally only allow parents to take photographs and videos of their own children.  However, it appears that some parents took photographs of children other than their own.  We will review this for future events and develop a policy which helps to capture memories for parents whilst respecting the privacy of others.

Please do let us know if anyone tests positive over the week as we can use this to review the measures in school.  Please email admin@fairfields.hants.sch.uk if your child tests positive.  I will then review the figures at the end of the week and send out a weekly update to reflect this.

In the meantime, please take time to rest and enjoy the holiday.

Best wishes
