The future of Freddies Club

23 March 2021 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

I am writing to inform you of a change in Freddies’ breakfast and afterschool club.

Over the last three years, the number of parents using both the afterschool and holiday club has reduced.  This has meant that the school has had to subsidise the running of the club from the main school budget for up to £50,000.00.  This has also been made worse by the lockdown and the need to keep some staff unfurloughed throughout.  However, regardless of this, the demand has naturally reduced over time.

As a result and after proper consultation with staff at the club, the governors and leaders of the school have made the decision to close the holiday club and to reduce the number of places at the breakfast and afterschool club.

This means that we will only be able to offer a limited number of places at the club (approximately 20).  We are in the process of reviewing the charging policies for the club, which could potentially include payment upon booking and a non-refund policy for places that are not used unless the school is closed.

The changes will take effect the week beginning the 3rd May 2021.  Please could we ask that you contact the Manager of the club if you require a place from this date onward.  We will aim to send the policies to you by the end of this week.

Kind regards

Miss Kelly Dillon
