Weekly Update

11 December 2020 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

We are in the final week of term and it seems to have flown by.  We want to thank everyone for continuing to support the school and for helping us by working with the new arrangements from September.  Please can we remind parents to respect the two metre social distancing at drop off and pick up time.

The Department For Education have offered schools the opportunity to move an INSET day to Friday 18th December.  We have chosen not to do this for the following reasons:

  1. We have already made plans for the last day of term, including our end of term assembly.
  2. We do not want to cause disruption to our families who would need to take time off at short notice.
  3. We believe that there may be more cause to isolate year groups after the holidays once bubbles have mixed across the country.

The Department for Education have asked that we continue to support track and trace in our school community for six days after the end of term.  This does mean that a member of staff will be on call to alert me if staff or pupils receive a positive test.

Details of how this will work will be sent home in a letter and also emailed next week.

In other news, we have exciting things planned for the end of term.  On Thursday 17th at 1:30pm, the staff will be performing a pantomime as a gift to the children.  This will be via Zoom and parents are also invited to attend.

We would also like to invite parents to our end of term assembly on Friday 18th December.  This will involve some optional audience participation in two carols:

  1. We wish you a merry Christmas
  2. The twelve days of Christmas.

The Meeting ID for these events will be emailed to you next week.

For children who have signed up for Voice in a Million last March, the organisers are still planning to reschedule the event for March 2021.  I will also contact the Year 7 children to see if they still would like to participate.  I will inform you if anything changes.

Finally, we are looking forward to a fantastic final week of term.  Please ensure that your children have a warm coat so that they can play outside at breaktime.  We will place lost property on tables in the bottom playground on Thursday and Friday afterschool next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best Wishes
