Remembrance Day

12 November 2019 (by Vicky Hopkins (vhopkins))

The children at school observed a 2 minute silence on Monday to mark Remembrance Day. They spoke in their classrooms about the significance of the day, and why we show respect. We would like to say a special thank you to Mrs Pinto, one of our parents, who also came in to talk to years 3, 4, 5 and 6 about the stories of former Fairfields pupils who were alive during the war.

The School Council attended the Remembrance service at the War Memorial with the mayor, and were invited to speak with the mayor after the service. They were amazing and have been invited back to the council offices to talk about local issues and share their views- well done school council. Thank you also to Jayden and Ruby who attended the Sunday Remembrance service at the War Memorial and lay a wreath on behalf of the school- well done.
