Industrial Action Update - 2nd May

2 May 2023 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

Here is a summary of the classes that are open or closed today due to industrial action being taken by teachers in the school or due to the impact of this action on their own child’s school.

Paris and London - Open

Rome and Warsaw - Open

Budapest and Madrid - Open

Kathmandu and Ankara - Closed

New Delhi and Canberra - Closed

Cairo and Nairobi - Closed

Ottawa and Lima - Open

Please could I ask you to continue to show respect to our teachers who may be taking industrial action.  They do so in response to the rise in inflation which has not been reflected in the pay over a number of years.  This means that they themselves may be struggling with the cost of living.  They are also taking this action to encourage the Government to increase funding to schools.  They can already see the impact of a budget which does not reflect inflation and means a reduction in staff and resources for pupils in our school.

Yours sincerely

Miss Kelly Dillon
