Weekly Update 21

1 April 2022 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

It has been another focused week with many of our children taking part in our internal testing and teachers making their final assessments ready for the reports.  These will be sent out to parents on Friday 6th May.

Well done to our children who are showing increased resilience when faced with challenging questions.  We will continue to familiarise pupils with the language expected in tests to help them to answer them more easily.

We are really looking forward to the Spring Carnival next Friday afternoon.  Parents are invited to come into the playground using the main school gate.  We will then begin the performance as close to 2pm as possible.  A programme with rough timings will be sent out on Thursday.

Parent Survey

The Governors have reviewed the Parent Survey that was sent out a few weeks ago.  Out of the 317 families, only 77 families completed the survey.  We will open the survey again up to the 8th April for any other parents to complete it.  We use the information from the survey to focus the work and budget in the school.  Please complete it using this link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/59NCZRW

Easter celebrations

Please do join us on the playground after the Spring Carnival to celebrate the Christian festival of Easter.  The PTA have arranged for paid activities to take place including an Easter egg hunt and face painting.

Birthdays and attendance

We have had a number of parents requesting to take their children out of school to celebrate their birthdays.  This is classed as an unauthorized absence and we request that children are in school as much as possible due to the lost learning over the pandemic.

Price increase for school meals provided by HC3S

We have received notification that the price of the school meal for children will increase to £2.60 per day.  This will take effect from the 26th April.

Finally, I wanted to say how impressive the response has been to the Art Competition.  The entries will be displayed at the Spring Carnival and we would like parents to have the opportunity to vote for the best pieces.  More information will come out about this next week.

Have a wonderful weekend!
