Weekly Update

24 September 2021 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

It has been a fantastic week at school.  The new Foundation Stage children have settled incredibly well into the routine, including having their first Forest School sessions.

The children in the rest of the school have continued to work hard and show pride in their learning.  Our new Local Authority Inspector visited the school last Friday afternoon and remarked on how happy and settled everyone was.

We are in the final stages of approving the development plan for the school.  I will be hosting an evening for parents in October to share the plan with parents and to ask for feedback.  One of the priorities will be to invite our community into school as much as possible.  We are acutely aware that the pandemic has meant that some parents have not been inside the school since their child has started.

Our aim will be to invite parents in as much as possible and at least once a month from October.  The first confirmed date will be on the 22nd October at 2pm where we will be holding a Fairfields’ Harvest Festival.  It will involve each year group sharing their knowledge and understanding of specific food items.  More information will be sent out next week.

PE Uniform

We have been made aware that the printed logo on some of the jogging bottoms is peeling off.  I have contacted Liss Sport to see what is the most efficient way of resolving it.  They will be investigating the problem over the weekend and I will update you at the start of next week.

Pokemon Cards

We are continuing to review the balance of fun and frustration in relation to the Pokemon cards.  We will make a decision as to whether these are banned for the whole school or whether these can come into school for one day a week, at the owner’s risk.  Please let us know your thoughts on this by emailing the school office.

Parent Governor

Please keep your eye out for information relating to becoming a Parent Governor.  Please do contact the school office if you are interested in this voluntary role within the school and a member of the Governing Body will respond.

Clubs

Please note that school clubs are currently becoming full.  Please let us know if you would like some help with signing up for a club for your child.

Finally, thank you for all of your smiles and support over the last few weeks.  Please keep checking the school calendar on the website for upcoming events.

Yours sincerely

Miss Kelly Dillon
