Weekly Update

28 May 2021 (by admin)

Dear parents and carers,

We have finally made it!  Thank you to everyone for helping to make this the most settled half term we have had in a long time.  The children have been incredible in their efforts to achieve their targets and the staff have often expressed how lucky they are to have such vibrant and motivated children.

Well done to Miss Bogalski and Mrs Moseley for all of the work they have completed on Forest Schools.  They are now in the final stages of achieving a Level 3 qualification.  We will looking at how forest school sessions can be offered to all children in the school next year.

We are also lucky enough to have appointed two new members of staff who will be joining us next year.  Mr Hewlett (Rory and Dexter’s father) will be helping to drive the digital strategy for the school.

Miss Facey will be joining us in September to cover Miss Harper when she begins her maternity leave.  Congratulations to Miss Harper who is going to be having her next child in the autumn.  We will also be reviewing the teaching structure for next year and looking at how we can maximise the use of Catch Up funding.  We have trialed some approaches this term which have included employing additional teachers to deliver interventions.  This has worked well in the older year groups especially.

In COVID news, at the governors meeting on Wednesday we agreed that we can now safely reduce the stagger times at the start and end of the day.

Beginning on Tuesday 8th June,  the arrangements will be:

8:40am

Foundation Stage will meet their teachers in their fenced garden.

Year 2 will be met by their teacher in the usual place and led through Freddies room to the classroom.

Year 4 will meet their teacher on the top playground and will then enter the school.

Year 6 will meet their teacher under the canopy.

These children will be collected from the same point as above at 3:10pm

 8:50am

Year  1 will meet their teacher on the top playground and will then enter the school via the canopy.

Year 3 will meet their teacher under the canopy with the classes going in before the Year 1 children walk round.

Year 5 will be meet their teacher on the bottom playground and be led through Freddies’ room door to go to their classroom.

These children will be collected from the same point as above at 3:20pm

If you are driving to the school and are using a car parking space in the area, please can we ask that you park safely and consider that other people may need that space to collect their child.

We will also be starting clubs the week beginning the 14th June.  A letter will be sent out on the first day back (8th June).

Your child will have brought home a letter with details about Healthy Lives Week, including Sports Day.  More details will be sent out about the sponsorship element when we return.  I have also attached it to this email/ have put it on the letters and forms page on the website.

Finally, please find attached the information about track and tracing over the holiday period.

Have a wonderful half term holiday and enjoy the weather!
