Weekly Update

27 November 2020 (by admin)

Dear Parents and carers,

We are working our way towards the end of term and in the process of preparing for the Christmas season.  We know that children enjoy giving each other cards but we are not able to facilitate this in school this year.  Instead, we will be creating a ‘Winter Wish Tree’ in each classroom.  The children will be given a tag to write a wish on.  They will hang the wish on a tree in the classroom.  Each child will receive a photograph of their class tree to take home on the last day of term.  Teachers are happy to accept gifts but may not able to open them in front of your child.  We will be having our Christmas Dinner Day on the 10th December. Please book your child’s meal using the SCOPAY system.

We have missed our Year 2 staff and pupils this week.  They began their live lessons today and these have gone very well.  Thank you to parents for supporting this.  We look forward to seeing them back to school on the 9th December.  We have not received any positive tests since and so this does mean that we have only had one case in school so far.

We have had a number of questions relating to the case and concerns raised about whether there needs to be wider isolation.  I have followed the advice from Public Health England which is that this is not necessary.  Please could we ask that parents trust us to manage the situation.  Please find attached the flow chart which was followed by the school.  We will inform you of any changes if necessary.

Finally, well done to Ottawa class for a fantastic assembly.  They have continued to impress us with their learning and today’s showcase was a good example of this.  Thank you to the parents and family members who attended. We look forward to Canberra’s assembly next week.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm!
