Weekly update

12 October 2020 (by admin)

Dear and carers,

Happy Monday!

We are really excited about the next two weeks at school.  We are in the process of assessing pupils against last year’s age related expectations in preparation for parents’ evenings on the 4th and 5th November.  You are now able to book your appointment using SCOPAY.  If you are unsure about how to do this, please contact the school office.  Please do try to keep your child at school as much as possible over the next two weeks as we will be checking learning objectives with them.

Today we have created a situation for children to write to about.  We have removed their chairs as a fake initiative to increase activity in the school.  Please do not be alarmed, anyone with a physical disability will be given a chair.  The main focus is to create a real life experience for children to write about.  They will be writing letters to me to persuade me to give them their chairs back.  They will read them to me at 11:15am and then ‘convince’ me to give them their chairs back.

We will share the writing with you on the year group webpage and also at parents’ evening.

You should have received an email about Flu immunization.  Please could you complete the online consent form.  If you have any difficulties, please contact the school office.

Finally, last week was much calmer in the playground and thank you to everyone for taking notice of the messages about pick up and drop off.  Please could I remind parents to keep their children next to them at all times.  Please also ensure that your child wears a cycle helmet if riding a bcycle or scooter and that they do not ride them in the playground.  Anyone not wearing a cycle helmet will be asked to not bring their scooter of bicycle to school.

We have been really fortunate so far and have only had negative results back.  Please be assured that if we have any positive results, we will inform parents immediately.

Have a super week!
