Opened in 1887, Fairfield's is the oldest school in Basingstoke. Housed in a large Victorian building close to All Saints Church and the town centre, we accept children from all areas of Basingstoke. Parents, grandparents and great grandparents all have memories of their time at this school. We are proud to say that many changes have occurred in the years since the school opened. Education is constantly changing and this school strives to meet the needs of the modern child. There are approximately 400 pupils in the School, in seven year-groups. Most children enter school at the age of four and leave at the age of eleven. We strive to provide high quality teaching in order to encourage enthusiastic learners. Children learn most effectively by being actively involved in what they are doing and the school recognises the central significance of structured play, opportunities to talk and practical experience in children's learning and development This school aims to meet the needs of all pupils no matter their ability. |
